Heh. Folk hader virkelig whitespace konceptet i Python. Det har nu aldrig irriteret mig synderligt.
Angående indentation synes jeg at have observeret en stigende preference for at bruge TABs, som jeg ikke helt forstår. Jeg hader tabs som pesten. Jeg har altid været en space indentation person. Mit hovedproblem er at tabs ikke er "what you see is what you get". På overfladen kan man ikke se om tabeller, alignments og andre ting er spaces eller tabs, og det irriterer mit OCD hvad angår indentation og whitespace. Jeg ved godt at man kan få editorer til at lave små pile hvor der er tabs, men det er bare så grimt og det distraherer.
For mig er tabs til indentation alene en ekstra opgave at tage sig af når man skriver kode: at sikre at der kun er tabs før linjen starter, og at sikre at der ikke er tabs efter. Det er alene ekstra arbejde uden gevinst, og det giver risiko for skjulte problemer (specielt med python).

Helt enig med tabs vs spaces. Tabs gør indrykningen afhængig af editor opsætning. Noget kan se fint ud hos udvikler A og totalt rodet hos udvikler B hvis de har forskellig tab opsætning.
Det er ikke så galt hvis der kun er tabs foran første non-whitespace, men hvis der er en blanding af tabs og spaces så går det helt galt ved anden tab opsætning.
